Characteristics

A 59-metre-long footbridge linking the Petite Fistoire to the Grande Fistoire; also a Nepalese bridge of more than 30 m.
A magnificent via, short, yes, but ingenious, challenging, acrobatic, impressive and safe.
Cost: € 5.50. Equipment can be rented on the spot: € 9.50 for helmet, harness, safety lines.

ViaFerrata.Org – tips

If you are going to do it in autumn… don’t forget your camera.
The testing Bombu pitch, just before the summit, can be avoided by an escape exit with the encouraging name of Les Bras Cassés (Broken Arms).

Ten minutes walk along the path from the parking area (Les Cheminées)

Viaferrata climbing

Collect a leaflet at the start; it will give you the details of all the vias in the area. They are short, testing, fun and very well equipped; for anyone in good shape – some passages are quite demanding. Exhilarating exposure on some pitches.
Possible options:

Short route: lets you reach the footbridge rapidly and then exit to avoid the Bombu stretch (which is hard on the arms) and the summit of the Grande Fistoire. It is a little exposed, but nothing serious.

Long route: the complete Grande Fistoire via including the footbridge and the Nepalese bridge. This section is very strenuous with a 50-metre overhang – La Grande Muraille. The final pitch is short but intense – a descending overhang. Keep some energy in reserve for this passage.
