Gloves and Shoes in Via Ferrata
Why Gloves?The footsteps and the hand steps are not very gentle with your hands. Take gloves with you. They will also protect you if you fall!
What kind of gloves?Cycling gloves are perfect (with leather protection in the hands)
You can also purchase Via Ferrata designed gloves Good Mountain-Walking shoes
if possible with a Vibram sole. You don't climb a mountain with city shoes or gym shoes! This is the same with the via ferrata. The foot steps will hurt your feet if you have gym shoes. If you have to walk on a wet rock, you are better off with a Vibram sole. Ditto for the descent! Your life will be easier with good mountain-walking shoes! (Take poles to help you for the descent)
