Start  of the viaferrata

Cable-car (or by foot) to the Videmanette summit. 20 metres before the beginning of the old via ferrata, bear left across the scree.
You’ll see the ladder that starts the via. The descent is a bit difficult; be careful…You really feel exposed.

Via Ferrata

A tough start up a crack, your feet braced against both sides. At the top, think what you are going to do before you do it.. Vertiginous! (How does Father Christmas manage?) A description? You have three steps… and then nothing but a tremendous impression of space all round you. If it’s too difficult, go back. Higher up is still difficult, but once there, with the adrenaline flowing, it’s another story.

Go on across a welcome traverse, and then… like us, you’ll have a hard job to find the right words. This final section begins with an immediate sensation being suspended in space – you have 200 empty metres under your boots! The steps are quite far apart, as are the cable bolts. Then, when you do reach the ladder, you are presented with an overhang that will test your arm muscles to the limit.

At last, you get out of the via by a tricky bit in the grass. Be careful not to dislodge rocks on the heads of your friends below.

At the summit, you join the easy route of the old via ferrata.
